Learning Objectives of the Course :

After successfully completing the course, participants will be able to

• Perform high‐quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as per the Saudi Heart Association basic life support (BLS) recommendations.
• Identify and initiate immediate intervention based on the initial impression or assessment, primary and secondary assessment.
• Recognize cardiopulmonary arrest and initiate pediatric basic and advance resuscitation.
• Apply team dynamics and use key elements of effective resuscitation.
• Differentiate between respiratory distress and failure and early interventions for various type of airway problems including upper and lower airway obstruction, lungs tissue disease and disorder control of breathing.
• Differentiate between compensated and hypotensive shock and perform early interventions for the treatment of various types of shock including hypovolemic shock, obstructive shock, distributive / septic shock and cardiogenic shock.
• Differentiate and treat unstable and stable children with arrhythmias including bradyarrhythmia’s, tachyarrhythmias and manage ventricular fibrillation, pulseless ventricular tachycardia, PEA and asystole.
• Implement post–cardiac arrest management.
